Class Descriptions

 

Introduction to Art (ages 5 - 6):  This is just the beginning of your child’s fruitful relationship with art! As a class, we will explore drawing, painting and other classical and less classical forms of 2-Dimensional art. We will also touch on some basic form sculpture to explore form in the 3rd Dimension, using cardboard, fabric and all sorts of different materials.  Children should be able to write their own name and be comfortable taking directions for an hour.

 

Exploring 2D (ages 7 - 9):  2D artists are encouraged in their strengths while continuing to try new

techniques. Students will explore expressing and communicating with their artwork, as we will examine better ways to communicate amongst ourselves. Art history, terminology and concepts will be introduced and more heavily promoted.
